"Some stories don't have a clear beginning, middle, and end. Life is about not knowing, having to change, taking the moment and making the best of it, without knowing what's going to happen next. Delicious ambiguity..." ~ Gilda Radner

a short cat tale
Here's a YouTube video called "Psycho Kitty: Qu'est-ce que c'est?!!" It's the only thing I know that will stop Darth short in his tracks (except James's "Quit it!") when he's in a howling frame of mind and padding on the patio doors with his little paws because I won't let him outside, on account of the workers are finishing off the last of our neighbors' fences. Thank goodness! Today I heard them begin at 7:15 am. I was able to roll over and half-sleep-in, but I was still conscious of the noise.

That was TOO funny!! That must have been one yummy treat to think that his TAIL might get it first! Hilarious!
ReplyDeleteOur cats are VERY responsive to what we say to them. "Katy, be nice!" actually gets Katy (Mouser) to back off from her sister or the neighbour's cat. And when we tell Ferdie to get in her bowl, she generally does. and then of course there is the daily conversation when we get home:
-Ferd, what did you do today?
-Meow.
-Did you play nice with your sister?
-Meow.
-Were you disturbing her at nap time?
-Meow.
and so forth and so on.
-Was she
"was she" was a delete that returned from cyber space as i hit send.
ReplyDeleteThat's impressive. About how old are your cats and how long have you had them? Were they from the same litter?
ReplyDeleteOurs are generally not very talkative, but Curlicue will usually follow me into the kitchen first thing in the morning, stare up at me for a bit, and let out a "Meep." I take it to mean, "Love me. Brush me." Darthy-boy meyowls when he can't have his way or when he wants us to wake up already.
Ferdie is 5 almost 6, and Katy is almost 11. Not really siblings obviously. Katy was a teeny tiny kitten who had enormous ears (hence "Mouser", although she has lived up to that name with her hunting abilities) and was given to me by a child in a daycare I worked at. Katy's real sibling went to another employee - I wonder how that kitty is? Ferdie was a kitten placed through the gate of a pet store at Polo Park one night and they found her zipping about the next morning. Derrick and I went in on my birthday to go buy a coat from the Gap and came out with a new fur ball instead. And they are so cute and so funny and so lovable and I just want to eat their paws.
